The latest film from powerhouse artist-filmmaker duo Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor continues the thread from their previous work, "THE FUTURE TENSE," delving into Ireland's tumultuous history with a soulful exploration. This time, they employ the genre of a heist movie to recount the true story of Rose Dugdale, played by Imogen Poots, a young heiress who rebelled against her English aristocratic upbringing to join the Irish Republican Army. In 1974, Dugdale and her collaborators stole 19 priceless paintings, including works by Rubens, Goya, and Vermeer, from a private residence, using these treasures as leverage to free four IRA prisoners. Lawlor and Molloy's atmospheric thriller immerses viewers in the intensity of the Troubles, with Poots delivering a captivating performance as the revolutionary. Beneath Dugdale's radical exterior, we witness her vulnerability and inner conflict as she grapples with her appreciation for the beautiful artifacts of a world she seeks to dismantle and the fear of the chaos she has unleashed.
